Dear readers and visitors:
We are sure that many of you like magic.
Some of us here at The Mount Dora Ghost Walk are members of the Society of American Magicians. We are very much interested in forming a local Assembly of S.A.M. here in Mount Dora with the help of those of you who may share our interest in this fun-to-perform, fun-to-watch hobby.
The Society of American Magicians is a world-wide non-profit association which is dedicated to increasing interest in, and advancing the quality of, the ancient art of magical illusions and sleight of hand. The Society of American Magicians is the oldest organization of magicians in the world. Most of the famous magicians have been members and have served as officers and advisers. Among them are such names as Houdini, Blackstone, Thurston, Mark Wilson and the Gustafsons, to name a few.
Besides being great family entertainment, like The Mount Dora Ghost Walk, magic also offers many opportunities for performers, as well as clear benefits for the entire community. Among the less heard of but real benefits we can count relief from physical and emotional stress and its usefulness and as a very effective method of rehabilitation. Personality problems can often be alleviated by performing magic tricks as a method of overcoming shyness or an inferiority complex. There many more possibilities from participating in this hobby.
Anyone who would like more information about joining our local Assembly may do so by contacting any of our staff at The Mount Dora Ghost Walk, The Mount Dora Historical Society or by completing the form below.
Thanks!
