RIP
October 20th, 2008 - June 3rd-2010
We are deeply saddened for the loss of this important feature of our Show.

Due to building logistical reasons and fire codes, the permanent puppetry stage had to be removed. It was indeed a beautiful piece on itself, built with salvaged historical wood once part of the Simpson House in Mount Dora.

We are now in the process of redesigning the puppetry machinery into a portable one more in tune with the growing changes of our repertoire. We will maintain this link to the puppetry page as a memorial to those visionary days. In the meantime, adieu!

A very integral part of our theatrical concept from the very beginning, the puppet theater has been a landmark achievement among our productions. Started by Hector De Leon at the same time with the Ghost Walk, it has a repertoire of original material and characters.  The productions are linked directly to the flow of the Ghost Walk, but each can be preformed individually without losing context. As this venue matured and gained exposure, its impact as a program standing by itself is now directed by the 30 years of puppetry experience of Thomas Davis. Our company is member of the Puppeteers of America and Unima (Union Internationale de la Marionette).

Mount Dora Historical Society's Marionette Theater at Historical Society Museum was design and constructed by Hector De Leon, Creative Director for the society. He used  reclaimed wood from the Unity House also known as the Simpson House.

Audiences gathered in the museum to view a 10 minute Marionette Show as preview of the 1 hour long Ghost Tour through the shadowy streets and alleys of Old Mount Dora.

His team consisting of both members and volunteers is highlighted by the Technical experience of Thomas Davis, and performance skills of Oscar Galvan. Together they developed not only the marionette piece, but the stories, scripting and evolving program of theatrical performances currently included in the Ghost Walks.

Thomas Davis has more than 20 years of experience working, designing and making puppets of all kinds. From the tiniest finger puppet to the giant walking rod puppets seeing in parades, he has made them all. His experience brings to the team a high level of professionalism that has also influenced other puppeteers as far away as Costa Rica.

Directly from Argentina, Enrique Oscar "Rick" Galvan brings his talents as marionette operator, and stage, sound and light designer. He also performs as our company's very own mime
